Kimyal Tribe Receives Bible in Own Language
My Godly and wonderful wife sent me a link to a video of the Kimyal tribe of Papua, Indonesia receiving copies of the Bible translated into their own language. The excitement of these believers because they finally have the Bible in their own language is both touching and convicting. Here in America there is a tendency to take the Bible completely for granted and I mean among professing believers, not those who make no claim whatsoever to belong to Christ. Seldom do people really get excited about what the Word of God teaches; even less seldom do people get excited about possessing a copy of the Scriptures. In this video, the Kimyals are excited about both what the Word of God says and about being able to hold in their hands and own a copy of the Scriptures in their native tongue. It is so refreshing to see believers who are genuinely excited about the Word of God.
Watch this video and be blessed by the excitement of these believers over the Word of God.
Jim Elliff on The Suffering Church
Jim Elliff has an article on the Heart Cry Missionary Society website about an experience he recently had while training a group of pastors and church planters in India and Bangladesh. The article brings out in a very clear manner the way that Christians in other parts of the world are called to suffer because of their faith in Christ. I think it is good for we who live in the USA to be reminded of the plight of our fellow believers in places that are openly hostile to the Lord Jesus Christ and those who belong to Him. Jim’s article can be found here.
