Layla Grace

My wonderful wife, Kristy, and I became first time grandparents on March 5, 2010 when our oldest daughter, Meredith, and her husband, Justin, welcomed little Layla Grace Daniel into this world. The Word of God tells us that children are a gift from God, so we thank God for the wonderful gift of Layla Grace. It is such a joy to hold little Layla Grace, although that is not all that easy to do when grandmother is around, as she wants Layla Grace all to herself! But I suppose that it is what a grandmother is supposed to do.

Kristy and I look forward to this new stage of our lives, that of being grandparents, and we look forward to being of help to Justin and Meredith as they seek to raise Layla Grace in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Here is a picture of Layla Grace with her Papa.

Careful

I came across this article warning parents to always look out for the safety and security of their children and protect them from sexual predators and that means even in so-called Christian environments. Churches and Christian schools can easily become havens for sexual predators because of the inherently trusting nature of such institutions. Parents cannot, however, behave foolishly and trust their children to anyone and everyone and fail to exercise any degree of discernment concerning who is and who is not allowed access to them. The author of the article shows how she and her husband approach this matter with their children and in the article she reveals how each of her siblings were targeted at one point or other by a sexual predator but were spared the horror of abuse because of the care and caution and intervention of their parents. This is an article that all parents must read and take to heart. You can read the article at this link.
